The Blood Angels are not a singular character but rather a prominent Chapter of Space Marines in the Warhammer universe. Specifically, they belong to the Warhammer 40K setting, a grimdark science fantasy world.

First appearing in the tabletop wargame Warhammer's early editions and later extensively featured in the Warhammer 40K setting, the Blood Angels are distinguished by their martial prowess, artistic sensibilities, and a tragic flaw known as the "Red Thirst" and the "Black Rage".

They are genetically descended from the Primarch Sanguinius, a powerful and noble figure who was slain during the Horus Heresy. This traumatic event imprinted on their gene-seed, leading to the Red Thirst (a craving for blood) and the Black Rage (a psychic echo of Sanguinius's death, driving Blood Angels into uncontrollable berserker states).

Despite these flaws, the Blood Angels remain fiercely loyal to the Imperium of Man and are renowned for their bravery and dedication in the face of overwhelming odds.
